Motor encoder units are compact, integrated assemblies consisting of a deep groove ball bearing from the 62 series with a snap ring groove and RS1 contact seal, an impulse ring, a sensor body, and a connecting cable.
The impulse ring is mounted on the inner ring of the bearing and is a composite magnetized ring containing 32 to 80 alternating north and south poles, depending on the bearing size. The sensor body is fixed to the outer ring and protects the patented Hall effect sensing elements, while the multi-wire connecting cable extends radially for easy signal transmission.
The bearing is sealed by a contact seal on one side. On the opposite side, the combination of the impulse ring and sensor body forms an effective labyrinth seal, keeping lubricant inside and preventing dust and solid contaminants from entering, ensuring reliable and long-term operation.
